Position: Construction Estimator

Reports to the Operations Manager

Department: Operations

Hours per Week: 42.5

Position Overview

The Construction Estimator is the primary interface for all project estimates, and works closely with the Sales, Project, and Construction team members. They are responsible for managing accurate and detailed project estimates, providing support with the Management of Chance process related to project scope creep and delays, and completing analyses of subcontractor bids.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Ensure estimates adhere to all Company and client applicable HSE and Quality requirements
  • Develop, issue, and maintain project cost estimates in accordance with the Basis of Estimate, including statements of work scope, assumptions, person-hour estimates, and narratives
  • Develop and issue the Basis of Estimate for project cost estimates
  • Liaise with Project and Construction Management to develop project budgets and schedules that reflect the structure and content of the project estimate
  • Ensure alignment with Company procedures and work methods
  • Develop rates and time durations associated with tasks
  • Monitor actual costs against estimated costs to verify estimate compliance

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline or trades background preferred
  • Minimum of 10+ years in Construction Estimating required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Construction Estimating Software
  • Strong attention to detail, decision making, and interpersonal skills required
  • Must be a team player that strives for high performance

Position: Senior Project Manager

Reports to the Operations Manager

Department: Operations

Hours per Week: 42.5

Position Overview

The Senior Project Manager is the primary interface for projects, and leads the project gate process from the Sales Department handoff to the Construction Department for execution onsite through project closeout. They are responsible for managing the efforts of the project team to plan and execute projects of various sizes within schedule and budget while maintaining the highest level of HSE and quality standards.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with the HSE team for the development and implementation of all project HSE standards and safe work plans, ensuring compliance with company and client requirements
  • Manage multiple projects of various sizes, locations, and dollar values
  • Account for the financial performance of projects and reporting for internal and external stakeholders
  • Own the Request for Quote process for subcontractor and vendor management pricing
  • Maintain stewardship of contractual obligations
  • Manage client and team member relationships effectively
  • Generate daily, weekly, and monthly project progress reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Attend daily, weekly, and monthly internal and external stakeholder meetings and report on overall project status as required
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to all Project Team members

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline or trades background preferred
  • Minimum of 10+ years of multiple project management experience
  • 2-5 years of experience with steel-framed, fabric-covered buildings preferred
  • PMP certification preferred
  • Class 5 driver’s license
  • Clean 3-year driver’s abstract
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organization skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Projects

Position: General Labourer

Reports to the Operations Manager

Department: Operations

Hours per Week: 42.5

Eligible for Benefits: After 90 days

Travel Required: Yes

Position Overview

The General Labourer is responsible for all general labour duties required within the Company. They ensure work tasks are performed safely and in accordance with OHS Legislation and Company policies, and that work is achieved with a high level of quality and timeliness.

Essential Responsibilities

Labouring – 35%

  • Ensure that health and safety are the top priority by complying with Company practices, procedures, and rules, as well as any applicable legislation
  • Complete all required paperwork on a daily basis
  • Maintain trucks and equipment by meeting preventative maintenance requirements
  • Operate basic hand and power tools
  • Perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and material handling
  • Work both indoors and outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions
  • Other labour and basic activities as required

Inventory Handling – 35%

  • Complete shipments by loading orders manually or with the use of powered mobile equipment
  • Process requests and supply orders by pulling materials, packing boxes, and placing orders in delivery staging areas
  • Prepare shipping documents, including work orders, bills of lading, packing slips, and orders to properly route materials
  • Maintain a clean shipping supply area in compliance with Company procedures, rules, and regulations

Expediting – 30%

  • Pre-trip inspections of vehicles and trailers per Company requirements
  • Loading, unloading, and securing materials per Company requirements
  • Safely and efficiently deliver tools and equipment from various locations throughout Western Canada while successfully meeting deadlines
  • Complete post-trip inspections per Company requirements
  • Clean and refuel Company vehicles and trailers

Qualifications

  • 0-2 years of labourer experience required
  • Class 5 driver’s license required
  • Clean driver’s abstract required
  • Forklift certification required
  • Standard First Aid, Level C, and CPR certification required
  • WHMIS-2015 certification required
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods certification required
  • CSTS-2020 certification required
